Hey everyone.  I guess Im back on this addiction....that the world refers to as xanga.  Anyways- Still at school, classes are starting to get a little tougher (you know how there is mid semester turn...where an apparently easy class turns difficult very very quickly)...anyways, thats kinda going on.  Nothing too exciting really. Last night we had a super swap with Chi Omega, SAE, and Sigma Chi....the theme was, "It used to be cool"...so my good friend Kendal and I went as WWF wrestlers...haha.  it was hilarious.

Prayer requests:  My COusins Kari, and Colleen are both over seas...learning and doing some missionary work...please pray for their safe return and safe stay.  Also- my uncle TC is also overseas with doctors without borders...hes experiencing some horrific stuff...very eye opening.  Please pray for his state of mind and also safety.

Let me know how everything is back in Indiana...and elsewhere!

All my love!

Kami

Holla atcha gurl...

Hey ya'll. I am updating upon request from a few friends....I guess its a bigger deal than I thought it was.

So my life in the past month...Ive pledged a sorority...stepped foot into adulthood...survived hurricane Katrina...and made a drive on faith all the way back to Indiana. I suppose we'll start with RUSH, and the sorority business. I pledged Delta Delta Delta...and Im absolutely lovin it. Ive really enjoyed getting to know the girls- and learning what a true sisterhood is all about...I have lots more to learn and gain from my sorority experice, but as of now, Im thrilled to be a part of it. Adulthood is a strange thing...and I know full well that Im not completely an adult, I think I qualify as half an adult. I went into my first bar...which was really nerve racking, fake id's are a godsend. Ive been the DD for all my drunk friends countless times...and Ive had a taste of money management...still learning...but Ive certainly had a taste. Now on to the hurricane. IT WAS HELL. To say the least. I was in a closet, in the fetle position, by myself, asleep and afraid. I made it through the 160 mph winds, and the house I was staying in survived, althought many in the surrounding area didnt. Its abosolutely horrible, thats about the bottom line. Theres more devestation than words to illustrate it. Theres more hunger and loss of material things than people truely know what to do. I think the two things I really learned from surviving this disaster was: the importance of communication...the pure blessing it is to have the oppurtunity to pick up the phone and call the people you love and tell them that you are alive and healthy...the second thing...is the simple value of human life....life is worth so much more than a house...than anything you can buy. Sometimes I think we lose track of that fact.

ANyways- I guess Southern Miss is planning on going back into business on the 12th of september...which in my opinion is a long shot- but they gotta do what they gotta do. I leave muncie on the 8th....to allow for the drive down...and get there in time for the pre-school-restarting frat parties.....I have to have my priorities ya know...lordy lordy.

Im going to sign off this, and get on my facebook...Im officially addicted to the internet.

"redemption does not hit the snooze button."

Delta Love- Kami

So drastically and superiorly.

Why cant I hear the beat of my heart...

Am I already dead...

or must I

breathe in again.

live through...the pain and the turmoil.

I live through this brokeness.

Im at school.  Im sad, Im lonely, I dont have anyone.
